Lourdes Carvajal - Student Artist 

My name is Lourdes Carvajal and this is my online portfolio. I am currently a fashion design student at FIT in New York City and been there since 2021. I am working towards my bachelors degree in Sportswear design and expected to graduate in May of 2025. My passion for art started when I was in elementary school. My parents enrolled me in private art classes and there began my journey into the art world. After the 5th grade I auditioned to South Miami Middle school and got in for the Magnet art program. I studied there for my entire middle school experience entering  into art competitions and recieving honorable mentions. From there, I auditioned and got accepted to Design Architecture Senior High School. There is where I really started to evolve into a fashion designer and taking my first steps into learning about the industry. At my studies there helped me to grow as an artists and perfect my technique which led me to pursue my career currently at my university. When I take breaks from my busy academic life, I work with my mother making a small profit on designing active wear clothing for women. We call our
